Schools’ Key Concerns

We focus on students’ healthy development by providing proper teaching, counseling and discipline under a caring atmosphere.

School Management

School Organization:

Under the Incorporated Management Committee, the Executive Council formulates school policies which are then executed by the related subject panels or functional committees.

All stakeholders will constantly receive information about the latest development of the school and they are welcome to air their opinions as well.

Learning and Teaching Plan

Whole-school Language Policy:
Chinese is the major medium of instruction (MOI). To enrich English learning, some subjects provide English materials and activities. For the needs of the cross-border and immigrant students, Putonghua is also the medium of instruction in some Chinese Language lessons.

Learning & Teaching Strategies:
Curricula Development and Academic Committee meets regularly with subject panels and groups before devising the learning and teaching strategies. All strategies are student-oriented. Small learning groups are common whenever there is a need.

School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 2X. –
2. Curriculum highlights: Diversity of curriculum to develop the spectrum of students’ interests and potentials.

Key Tasks:
School-based Liberal Studies curriculum is developed under the guidance of external experts. Such experience has been shared by other schools. iPads are provided to enhance learning. In order to satisfy the requirement in the Other Learning Experience as stated in the New Senior Secondary Curriculum, we will organize different activities and services for students to participate so as to construct their personal profiles in preparation for further studies at tertiary institutes.

Student Support

Whole School Approach to Catering for Students’ Diverse Learning Needs:
The Learning Support Team provides students with special education needs (SEN) support. Services include the setting up of tailor-made curriculum, selecting senior form students to help junior form students and implementing the learning supports group, lunch-time learning groups, after school tutorials and Mathematics enhancement classes. In addition, English remedial classes are offered to cross-border and immigrant students.

Curriculum Tailoring and Adaptation for Learning and Assessment:
Both formative and summative assessments are conducted with a view to reinforcing the strengths of students and checking their learning progress.

Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
The cultivation of a harmonious teacher-parent relationship is facilitated through the setting up of a parent volunteer team to promote community services. Parent representatives are invited to participate in the discussion of school affairs.

School Ethos:
Our school values a disciplined learning atmosphere. We work in close liaison with the Hong Kong Police Force, the Education Bureau and different community centers and charity organizations. Our school establishes the rapport between students and teachers. A dual class-teacher system is in force to look after students more closely and facilitate their academic and moral developments. In order to achieve a better communication between students and teachers, junior form class teachers organize activities for their classes during lunchtime. In addition, the setting up of uniformed groups helps cultivate team spirit among students.

Future Development

School Development Plan:
Our school aims at promoting self-management in the school campus.

1. Reinforcing classroom routines to improve the learning atmosphere
2.Providing multi-pathways for students and school leavers
3.Offering a variety of activities for students to develop their potentials

Teacher Professional Training & Development:
Our school organizes regular staff development activities and encourages teachers to attend various educational workshops, talks and seminars to attain professionalism.
